Proudly owned by White Sage Farms

White Sage Farms is located in Owyhee County, Idaho
in the high mountain desert, about 50 miles west of Boise,
near the southeastern Oregon border.

We are CAE and Johnnes negative, tested February 2009.
We will test again in fall-winter 2009 and spring 2010 for CL, CAE, and Johnnes.
Testing via University of Idaho Caine Veterinary Teaching Center.

We selectively breed our fainting goats & myotonic goats for
conformation, health, mothering traits, & temperament.

Our interests lie in sustainable agriculture and
raising heritage livestock breeds, as naturally as possible.

The Tennessee Fainting Goat doesn't actually faint...
The name is somewhat of a misnomer. They have a neuromuscular, genetic condition
that causes their muscles to stiffen up when they are startled. They are not in pain
and they do not loose consciousness when they have a myotonic event. It usually lasts
for 10 to 15 seconds, and they begin to resume their "normal" goat activities, usually
remaining a little stiff in the legs momentarily as they begin to walk.
